The RS232 to CAN tool is a data converter, which is equivalent to a translation for us humans.


Under normal circumstances, if an AmeriCAN and a Chinese want to communicate, if the two sides do not speak the same language, they need a person who is proficient in Chinese and English to transmit information in the middle.


The working principle of the 232-to-CAN gateway is actually the same. It CAN realize the mutual conversion between CAN bus data and 232 data.


The data on both sides CAN also be converted at the same time, that is, bidirectional conversion. However, before the device works, you should pay attention to such a problem, that is, the filtering settings on the CAN side.


We know that the communication rate of the CAN terminal is much higher than that of the 232 terminal. If the CAN terminal is not limited in the amount of data, the 232 terminal CANnot bear it, which will cause communication errors.


Therefore, if you are implementing bidirectional conversion or converting from the CAN end to the 232 end, be sure to pay attention to the filter settings.
