A Brief Introduction to Marine Electronics

Marine electronic equipment refers to electronic equipment designed and classified for use in the marine environment on board boats and yachts, and even small amounts of salt water can damage some electronic equipment. Therefore, most of these types of devices are waterproof.

Marine electronics include chartplotters, marine VHF radios, autopilots and autopilots, fishfinders and sonar, marine radar, GPS, fiber optic gyrocompass, satellite TV and marine fuel management.

Electronic devices communicate using a protocol defined by the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA), which has two available standards, NMEA 0183 (a serial communication network) and NMEA 2000 (a controller area network-based technology). There is also Lightweight Ethernet (LWE).

In recent years, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) has created a new set of standards for "Digital Interfaces for Inboard Navigational Aids". This is called IEC 61162 and includes NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000 and LWE.

Harsh Environments Custom molded cables are used in a variety of applications. The exclusive molded cable assembly process offers the added benefits of reduced cost and weathertight reliability, with the added benefit of a permanent and service-free termination with no risk of cable pullout. If you need marine cables or need any other help, please email via

The role of DeviceNet terminal resistor

DeviceNet_network is a fieldbus network protocol based on Controller Area Network (CAN). In the DeviceNet network, the terminal resistor plays the role of compensation and protection for signal transmission. The function of the terminal resistor is to eliminate signal reflection and interference and ensure the signal transmission quality.
