The RET (Remote Electrical Tilt) consists of an antenna, a remote control unit (RCU), and an AISG (Antenna Interface Standard Group) control cable.

Electrically tilt antenna refers to an antenna that can adjust the electronic down tilt angle, which is different from traditional antennas that adjust the mechanical down tilt angle; The electronic down tilt angle adjustment is achieved by adjusting the phase between the resonators inside the antenna. Electric tiltg antennas are capable of remote control.

Due to the many advantages of RET cable, they have become the preferred choice for most operators during the construction phase of 4G networks.

During network operation and maintenance, network optimization engineers can remotely adjust the electrical dip angle of the antenna through the network management system to improve cell coverage performance. There is no need to manually go to the station for adjustment. Later maintenance is convenient, and adjustments can be tried to improve optimization efficiency.

However, currently, only the electrical dip angle is adjusted. In some special scenarios, such as tidal effects and interference coordination scenarios, remote horizontal azimuth adjustment is also required. Therefore, in practical applications, adjusting the electrical dip angle and horizontal azimuth angle will further improve the optimization efficiency.

The International AISG (Antenna Interface Standards Group) is responsible for formulating standards for remote electrical regulation.
