Due to the line-of-sight requirements of the radio, a clear path is required between the transmitting point and the receiving point. Various placement conditions must be considered to ensure this clear path. Therefore, the VH antenna height is important for two antennas to communicate within line of sight of each other.



Besides the height of the antenna, its location is also important. Placing the VHF antenna at a higher altitude increases the range of radio coverage. A higher placement point will also allow our transmitted signal to clear most obstructions such as trees and other boats.
