FTDI Cable Introduction

The USB to RS232 Converter Cable provides an easy method of communication between serial devices with RS232 and modern USB enabled devices. The FTDI cable has an internally mounted electronic circuit that uses the FTDI FT232R chip. This FTDI chip converts USB data to serial data and vice versa. In other words, this cable provides an effective and inexpensive solution for connecting a TTL serial interface to USB.

To use this FTDI cable we need a device driver which can be downloaded for free from the FTDI website. After installing the device driver, the US232R adapter shows up as a virtual COM port in the device manager settings.

Type

This USB-to-serial converter has two types of markings. One type is simply a conversion module with a USB cable attached to it. If you are using this module, you must connect an external USB cable to this device to interface with your computer.

Another type of converter is the FTDI cable, which contains the USB-to-serial converter circuit inside the connector.

Both types use the same FT232R chip. Besides, the driver installation and working process is the same for both. So you can use any of these modules.

FTDI Cable provided by Premier Cable to meet the data communication need. We also make many different panel mount cables. If you are interest, leave us messages now to get more information. OEM Support!

The role of DeviceNet terminal resistor

DeviceNet_network is a fieldbus network protocol based on Controller Area Network (CAN). In the DeviceNet network, the terminal resistor plays the role of compensation and protection for signal transmission. The function of the terminal resistor is to eliminate signal reflection and interference and ensure the signal transmission quality.
