The principle, composition and control system of solar lighting
The composition of solar street lamps mainly includes solar panels, solar controllers, battery packs, light sources, light poles and lamp housings, and some also need inverters.
1 The principle and composition of solar lights
The solar lighting system is a DC independent photovoltaic system. The solar cell module converts solar energy into electrical energy, controls and protects it through the controller, and converts electrical energy into chemical energy and stores it in the battery. When using electricity, the battery converts chemical energy into electrical energy for DC loads, or converts it into AC power through an inverter for AC loads. The device stops working only when there is no light for a long time and the power in the battery is exhausted. Solar street lights are composed of the following parts: solar panels, solar controllers, battery packs, light sources, light poles and lamp housings, and some also need inverters.
1.1 Solar panels
Solar panels are the core part of solar street lights, and also the most valuable part of solar street lights. Its function is to convert the sun's radiation energy into electrical energy, or send it to the storage battery for storage. Solar cells are mainly made of monocrystalline silicon and polycrystalline silicon. The photoelectric conversion efficiency of monocrystalline silicon is 18% to 21%, and that of polycrystalline silicon is 15% to 19%.
1.2 Solar controller
The most important link in the solar lighting system is the controller, whose performance directly affects the life of the system, especially the life of the battery. The controller uses an industrial-grade MCU as the main controller. Through the measurement of the ambient temperature, the detection and judgment of the battery and solar cell module voltage, current and other parameters, it controls the turn-on and turn-off of MOSFET devices to achieve various control and protection functions.
1.3 Battery
Since the input energy of the solar photovoltaic power generation system is extremely unstable, it is generally necessary to configure a battery system to work. The selection of battery capacity generally follows the following principles: First, under the premise of meeting the night lighting, the energy of the solar cell components during the day should be stored as much as possible. If the capacity of the battery is too small, it cannot meet the needs of night lighting. If the capacity is too large, the battery will always be in a state of power deficit, which will affect the life of the battery and cause waste.
