With Simulink Real-Time and Speedgoat hardware, you can use multiple industrial protocols in real-time applications, such as high-speed CAN (ISO 11898-3), fault-tolerant low-speed CAN (ISO 11898-2) or CAN with flexible data rates (CAN FD). Speedgoat products offer CAN, CAN FD or SAE J1939 seamlessly integrated with MathWorks product families such as MATLAB, Simulink, Simulink Test and Simulink Real Time. All solutions come with Simulink driver blocks.
Speedgoat provides support for CAN, CAN-FD and SAE J1939. It is also possible to interact with CANopen nodes. For example, the IO601 CAN (Controller Area Network) I/O module supports LIN, XCP over CAN, high-speed CAN (ISO 11898-3) and fault-tolerant low-speed CAN (ISO 11898-2). Support for CAN FD is available through the IO611 and IO613 I/O modules.
About CAN and CAN FD bus
CAN bus (Controller Area Network, Controller Area Network) is the first vehicle bus communication interface developed by Bosch. CAN bus specifications include CAN 2.0, ISO 11898 and CAN FD. It is one of the protocols used in the OBD-II vehicle diagnostic standard, and it is widely used in many industries besides automobiles. The message it uses mainly consists of two parts: a standard format with an 11-bit identifier and an extended format with a 29-bit identifier.

SAE J1939 is a common protocol for communication and diagnostics between commercial vehicle components. It originated in the automotive and heavy truck industries in the United States and is now widely used in other parts of the world.
