What is the difference between Lin bus and CAN bus :

1. Different meanings

1. CAN bus system: CAN belongs to the category of field bus, which is a serial communication network that effectively supports distributed control or real-time control. Compared to many RS-485 R-line based distributed control systems.

2. Lin bus system: Lin bus is a low-cost serial communication network defined for automotive distributed electronic systems. Applications that do not place high demands on the bandwidth, performance, or fault tolerance of the network.

Second, the transmission rate is different

1. CNA bus system: The bit rate of the CAN bus is relatively high, usually 500kb/s when used in automobiles, and the lowest is 100kb/s.

2. Lin bus system: The highest bit rate of the Lin bus is 2Okb/s, and the rate of 19200b/s or 9600b/s is usually used.

Three, the system structure is different

1. CNA bus system: CAN bus is a multi-host system, that is, any electronic unit connected to the bus can obtain bus control through bus arbitration, and send information to the bus system. When the unit sends out a complete ID, it is host. The CAN bus uses 11-bit IDs (or even more), allowing more units in a subsystem.

2. Lin bus system: Lin bus is a single-master multi-slave system. There is only one master in each subsystem. All information transmission is controlled by the master. The slave must wait for the master to send out its corresponding ID. send Message. The Lin bus uses a 6-bit ID, and there can only be fewer units in a subsystem.

CAN Controller Area Network is an ISO international standardized serial communication protocol. In the automotive industry, various electronic control systems have been developed for safety, comfort, convenience, low power consumption, and low cost.

Due to the different data types and reliability requirements for communication between these systems, there are many cases where multiple buses are formed, and the number of wiring harnesses increases accordingly. In order to meet the needs of "reducing the number of wiring harnesses" and "high-speed communication of large amounts of data through multiple LANs", in 1986, the German electric company Bosch developed the CAN communication protocol for automobiles.

Since then, CAN has been standardized through ISO11898 and ISO11519, and has become a standard protocol for automotive networks in Europe. CAN's high performance and reliability have been recognized and widely used in industrial automation, marine, medical equipment, industrial equipment, etc. Fieldbus is one of the hotspots of technology development in the field of automation today, and is known as the computer local area network in the field of automation.

The Lin Local Interconnect Network is a low-cost serial communication network for the control of distributed electronic systems in automobiles. Lin's goal is to provide auxiliary functions for existing automotive networks (eg CAN bus), so Lin bus is an auxiliary bus network.

In occasions where the bandwidth and multi-function of the CAN bus are not required, such as the communication between the intelligent sensor and the braking device, the use of the Lin bus can greatly save costs.

In addition to defining the basic protocol and physical layer, the Lin technical specification also defines development tools and application software interfaces. Lin communication is based on SCI (UART) data format and adopts the mode of single master controller/multiple slave devices.

Use only a 12V signal bus and a node sync clock line with no fixed time base. This low-cost serial communication mode and corresponding development environment have been standardized by the Lin Association.

The standardization of Lin will reduce costs for automakers and suppliers in developing application operating systems.

Introduction to M12 connector pin coding

M12 encoding types are A encoding, B encoding, D encoding and X encoding. A-code, B-code and X-code are some of the earliest developed and longest-available M12 connectors. The latest M12 coding types currently under development are K coding for AC and L coding for PROFINET DC.

The role of DeviceNet terminal resistor

DeviceNet_network is a fieldbus network protocol based on Controller Area Network (CAN). In the DeviceNet network, the terminal resistor plays the role of compensation and protection for signal transmission. The function of the terminal resistor is to eliminate signal reflection and interference and ensure the signal transmission quality.
