The Japan Industrial Imaging Association (JIIA), which adopts the CoaXPress high-speed digital interface standard in the imaging field, announced that the Automated Imaging Association (AIA) and the European Machine Vision Association (EMVA) support CoaXPress, which is now a world standard according to the G3 protocol.

 


CoaXPress is an asymmetric high-speed point-to-point serial communication digital interface standard. The standard allows the device to be connected to a data acquisition device in a host computer or computer via a single coaxial cable, transmitting data at speeds up to 6.25Gbit/s.

 

Given the ability of CoaXPress to transmit image data and metadata over multiple channels, the device does not have to be a single camera, but can also be an interface device that connects data between digital cameras.
