How Solar Photovoltaic PV Systems Work?

A solar photovoltaic system is a device that uses solar energy to convert into electrical energy. The system consists of solar panels, PV inverters, energy storage batteries and related cables.

The following is how a solar PV system works:


1. Photovoltaic panels absorb light. The light passes through the photosensitive body on the PV panel and converts the light energy into electronic energy.


2. DC power delivery. The electron energy is delivered into the PV inverter, which is converted into direct current by the inverter, and then delivered through the wire to host in the matrix cell.


3. Inverter current to AC. The DC current stored in the matrix battery is transmitted into the inverter, which converts the DC current into AC current through the inverter's inverting action.


4. Electricity is connected to the load. The AC power processed by the inverter can be connected directly to the home or business grid or output to the point of load for use through the electrical energy storage.


5. Electrical energy storage. Since the amount of solar radiation can sometimes be unstable, excess energy needs to be stored as a backup for use when supplemental energy is used. Therefore, solar photovoltaic systems are generally equipped with electrical energy storage.
