What is RRU called in communication equipment? What equipment does it belong to?
RRU is a remote radio unit in communication equipment, which is a device that converts baseband optical signals into radio frequency signals at the remote end and amplifies and transmits them.
The Remote Radio Unit (RRU) is divided into 4 large modules: IF module, transceiver module, power amplifier and filter module.
The digital intermediate frequency module is used for modulation and demodulation of optical transmission, digital up and down conversion, A/D conversion, etc.; the transceiver module completes the conversion of the intermediate frequency signal to the radio frequency signal; and then through the power amplifier and filter module, the radio frequency signal is transmitted through the antenna port. .
The working principle of RRU is:
The downlink baseband signal is frequency-converted, filtered, filtered by radio frequency, passed through a linear power amplifier, and then transmitted to the antenna through transmission filtering. The uplink will filter the received mobile terminal uplink signal, amplify the low noise, further amplify and filter the radio frequency small signal and down-convert, and then complete the analog-to-digital conversion and digital intermediate frequency processing.
There are two types of connection interfaces between the RRU and the base station interface:
CPRI (Common Public Radio Interface) and OBSAI (Open Base Station Architecture Initiative). Among them, CPRI members include: Ericsson, Huawei, NEC, Nortel, Siemens. Members of the OBSAI organization include: Nokia, ZTE, LG, Samsung, and Hyundai.
