What are the stages of producing a Molex Connector
Molex Connector is a connector that is very trusted by everyone, so do you know what stages it has in its manufacture? Let me explain it to you.
1. Stamping
The manufacturing process for Molex Connectors typically begins with stamped pins. Electronic connectors (pins) are stamped from thin metal strips using large high-speed presses. One end of the large-volume metal strip is fed into the front end of the punching machine, and the other end is wound onto the take-up reel through the hydraulic table of the punching machine, and the metal strip is pulled out of the take-up reel and pushed out to punch out the finished product.
2. Electroplating
After the Molex Connector pins are stamped, they should be sent to the plating section. At this stage, the electrical contact surfaces of the connector will be plated with various metal coatings. A class of problems similar to the stamping stage, such as pin twisting, chipping or deformation, also occurs during the feeding of punched pins into electroplating equipment.
3. Injection molding
Molex Connector manufacturers tell you that the plastic housing of the electronic connector is made at the injection molding stage. The usual method is to inject molten plastic into a thin metal film, which is then rapidly cooled. When molten plastic does not completely fill the film, so-called "leakage" occurs. This is a typical defect that needs to be detected during the injection molding stage.
4. Assembly
Molex Connector manufacturers tell you that the final stage of electronic connector manufacturing is the assembly of the finished product. There are two ways to insert plated pins into the cartridge holder: separate pairs or combined pairs. Individual inserts mean that each pin is plugged in; each time an insert is inserted, the pins are inserted into the box at the same time. Regardless of the plug-in type, manufacturers require all pins to be tested for missing and properly positioned during the assembly stage; another type of routine inspection task involves the measurement of spacing on the mating surfaces of the connector.
The above are the 4 stages that the production of Molex Connector needs to go through. I hope it will be helpful to everyone.
