Understanding of AISG Protocol
In the past two years, I have been working on projects related to the AISG protocol, including ESC antenna remote control unit-RCU, tower top amplifier-TMA, ALD equipment centralized control unit-CCU, etc., all around AISG.
Recently, I suddenly had an idea to introduce the AISG protocol around these products. It is a summary of my work ideas in the past two years. I used to write notes before, but now we also have a blog, and write it in the blog.
AISG protocol, the full name of Antenna Interface Standards Group, the official website www.aisg.org.uk, if you are interested, you can take a look at it, there are some latest information on the AISG protocol.
Next, we briefly introduce the current version of the AISG protocol. At present, the mature versions of the AISG protocol mainly include AISG1.1 and AISG2.0.
Some people may wonder why there is no version 1.0. After AISG 1.0 was released in 2003, less than half a year later, AISG 1.1 was released. Maybe there are some obvious mistakes in 1.0, so it is now in the market Most of the products obtained are versions 1.1 and 2.0.
Not long ago, it was found that AISG ES-RAS v2.1.0 and AISG ES-RAB v2.1.0 were added, but this does not violate the AISG2.0 protocol at all, but is only extended for two ALD devices.
It is equivalent to AISG2.0 that only two types of devices, RCU and TMA, are standardized. With the continuous increase of ALD devices, it is believed that the AISG protocol will continue to expand.
Since my work is mainly to develop products based on the AISG2.0 protocol, I am relatively clear about AISG2.0.
AISG1.0 and AISG1.1 can be said to be immature protocols.
As far as AISG1.1 is concerned, most of the content is actually designed according to the 3Gpp specification, but there are some subtle differences in some places, which makes AISG1.1 look like four different things.
For example, the Device Scan in AISG1.1 is different from the definition in 3GPP TS25.462 UTRAN Iuant Interface Signalling Transport. This problem has been corrected in AISG2.0, so that when it is used as a control device, it is required to be compatible at the same time. AISG1.1 and AISG2.0 protocols, how to do it, is to distinguish whether the ALD device is AISG1.1 standard or ASIG2.0 standard according to a subtle difference in this Device Scan command, huh, it can be said to be used This deficiency in AISG1.1.
The big difference between AISG2.0 and AISG1.1 is the firmware download and update function and some details of the second layer.
According to people familiar with the matter, the main makers of AISG1.1 are antenna manufacturers like kathrein.
The firmware download and update function of AISG1.1 can be said to be considered too thoughtful for ALD equipment manufacturers, so that the protocol is alive.
In the AISG2.0 protocol, firmware update and download does not matter what storage medium is used, whether EEP or Flash, the specific details are implemented by the ALD device manufacturers themselves, and the protocol simply regulates firmware download and Updated framework.
I wrote it here today. I don’t have a good idea. I casually talk about my understanding of the AISG protocol.
